Tata Capital IPO Listing: Shares of Tata Capital, a subsidiary of Tata Sons and a provider of various financial services, entered the domestic market today at a premium of over 1%. Its premium, or GMP, had reached zero in the gray market. Its IPO received an overall bid of 1.96 times. Shares were issued at a price of ₹326 under the IPO. Today, it opened at ₹329.30 on the BSE and ₹330.00 on the NSE, meaning IPO investors received a listing gain of over 1% (Tata Capital Listing Gain).
However, IPO investors were briefly shocked when the shares fell. After falling, it fell to ₹326.15 (Tata Capital Share Price) on the BSE. Recovering from the lower level, it reached ₹332.80. At the end of the day, it closed at ₹330.40, meaning IPO investors made a profit of 1.35% at the end of the first trading day.

How will the Tata Capital IPO proceeds be spent?
Tata Capital IPO Listing Capital’s ₹15,511.87 crore IPO was open for subscription from October 6-8. This IPO was subscribed 1.96 times overall. The portion reserved for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) was subscribed 3.42 times (ex-anchor), the portion reserved for Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) was subscribed 1.98 times, the portion reserved for retail investors was subscribed 1.10 times, and the portion reserved for employees was subscribed 2.92 times. New shares worth ₹6,846.00 crore were issued under this IPO. Additionally, 26,58,24,280 shares with a face value of ₹10 were sold under the offer for sale window. The proceeds from the offer for sale were received by the selling shareholders. The company will use the funds raised through the new shares to increase its Tier-1 capital base.

Tata Capital’s financial health has consistently strengthened. In fiscal year 2023, it reported a net profit of ₹2,945.77 crore, which jumped to ₹3,326.96 crore in fiscal year 2024 and ₹3,655.02 crore in fiscal year 2025. During this period, the company’s total income grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 44% to reach ₹13,637.49 crore. For the current fiscal year 2026, it reported a net profit of ₹1,040.93 crore and a total income of ₹7,691.65 crore in the first quarter (April-June 2025).
The company’s debt increased from ₹1,13,335.91 crore at the end of FY 2023 and ₹1,48,185.29 crore at the end of FY 2024 to ₹2,08,414.93 crore at the end of FY 2025. Reserves and surplus increased from ₹11,899.32 crore at the end of FY 2023 and ₹18,121.83 crore at the end of FY 2024 to ₹24,299.36 crore at the end of FY 2025. For FY 2026, the company had a debt of ₹2,11,851.60 crore at the end of June 2025 and reserves and surplus of ₹29,260.88 crore.
