How to Change Aadhaar Photo Online

UIDAI has simplified the online photo update process. Although you’ll need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra to get your photo clicked, the rest can be done online.

  1. First, visit UIDAI’s official website, https://uidai.gov.in/ and click on the “Book Appointment” option.
  2. Then enter your mobile number and captcha and click “Send OTP.” After verifying the OTP, click “Update Aadhaar.”
  3. Here, select “Biometrics Update,” then select the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra based on your location to book an appointment.
  4. After paying the photo update fee of ₹100, you will receive a receipt. Print it and visit the center on the scheduled date to have your new photo clicked.

Your new photo is usually updated on your Aadhaar card within 6 to 7 days.

How to Change Aadhaar Photo Online

  1. If you don’t want to proceed online, you can also change your photo by visiting your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra, post office, or bank branch.
  2. Fill out the Aadhaar update form and select “Biometrics Update.” When your turn comes, officials will take a new photo and charge a fee of ₹100.
  3. According to UIDAI regulations, no additional documents are required for this – just bring your original Aadhaar card.

How to Download a New Aadhaar Card?

  • After your photo is updated, you can download your new Aadhaar card from home.
  • Go to the UIDAI website, open the “My Aadhaar – Download Aadhaar” section, enter your Aadhaar number, and click “Send OTP.”
  • After verifying the OTP, click “Verify & Download.” Your new e-Aadhaar will be downloaded within seconds.
  • Update through UIDAI only.
