Under this scheme, the government aims to ensure easy access to television and radio, even in remote, border, and rural areas. The government has announced that free Dish TV setup boxes will be installed in 800,000 homes under this scheme. This will enable citizens to access education, news, and entertainment at no cost.

The Free Dish TV Scheme 2025 aims to ensure that no citizen is deprived of information and entertainment. Under this scheme, Direct to Home (DTH) service is being expanded nationwide. Under this scheme, 36 channels, including DD National, DD News, DD Sports, and DD Kisan, will be available for free viewing. The government also aims to increase All India Radio’s transmitter coverage from 59% to 66%, and population coverage from 68% to 80%.
